Kerrville Weekly Rundown

Sweet Relief Bake Sale

I’ve been blown away by the response to the Sweet Relief Bake Sale! Whether you’ve signed up to bake, volunteer, partner , or simply shared, liked or commented on our posts, thank you.

Know a family, business, GoFundMe or nonprofit that should be considered as a beneficiary? Nominate them here! → I will tally them up, vet, and narrow down to 5 options for the KFG Bake Squad to vote on this week.

We are looking for a location that is more than just a host!

What we need: A high-visibility location with plenty of space and parking, plus a community partner in a position to match or boost what we raise. Know a business that could be a great fit? Have them get in touch at [email protected]

→ Fresh on KFG!

This one is on me. ❤️
Know a local business that should sponsor the newsletter?

Send them my way.

Now let's get into this week's rundown. 👇

Kate’s Picks

This Week in Kerrville

Weekday Highlight: Riverside Nature Center 🌿
Riverside Nature Center reopens Monday, July 27, and could use our support! Stop in for a regular visit any day this week, or register your preschooler for Sprouts on Thursday at 10:30 AM.

Mid-week: Heart of the Cards Party
Wednesday | 11 AM–2 PM | Kerr Kids → Make encouraging cards for flood victims, first responders and others who could use some extra love with Uncle Jenn’s World. This event is free, but RSVP here. A Kerr Kids play waiver is required.

❤️ KFG will also be onsite to help families sign up for free baking kits generously donated by Uncle Jenn’s World for anyone who wants to bake for the Sweet Relief Bake Sale. The events are separate but designed to flow together, so you can make cards, grab a baking kit or easily do both (and all for free 😉) if you’d like!

New Guide

Back To School!

The Back-to-School Guide is live with upcoming Back To School Bash events, important dates, after-school care options, supply drives & more. I’ll also be adding more throughout the week, including another possible Back-to-School Bash once I verify the details.

I’m also looking for teachers affected by the flood so I can share their Amazon wish lists. If you know someone, please email me! →[email protected]

Coming soon to the guide: local teacher gift ideas that make it easy to start the school year by supporting Kerrville businesses.

Community Highlight

Flood Resources

If you or someone you know has been affected by the flooding, Kerr Together is where I'd start. They can help connect people with the right resources and guide them through the recovery process.

Highlighted Resources ↓

🚨 If you were affected by recent flooding in Kerr County, you need to complete the state's official iSTAT Damage Survey. This helps local and state officials document damage to primary residences and businesses, which is required to unlock disaster assistance. If you weren’t affected, letting others know who were about this is a great way to help.

🍽️ If you are a Food & Beverage Worker and have been impacted by the floods (or know someone), please check out this organization that offers grants in times of need to those in the industry.
