Kate’s Picks
This Week
Weekday pick: Nature Night: Butterfly Walk & Talk
August 18 | 6–7 PM | Riverside Nature Center | Free, registration required
Take an evening walk through Riverside Nature Center while learning about the butterflies found right here in our own backyards. Although the night before school starts, it could be a nice, relaxing way to end the summer.
Weekend Pick: Captain Cam’s Youth Fishing Program
August 23 | 4–7 PM | Mo Ranch | Free
Mo Ranch is such a beautiful place in the Hill Country, and this generous local family makes it easy to spend an afternoon there helping your kids learn to fish. Poles, bait and supplies are all provided, so families can simply show up and enjoy the experience together.
As an extra little bonus, Captain Cam’s wife is a talented photographer, so you may even get lucky and leave with a beautiful candid shot of your kid fishing. With fall family-photo season coming up, keep her in mind and check out her work here.

One less thing to worry about.
Start The New School Off Right
My son goes through picky phases, but I’ve genuinely noticed that he’s more adventurous with food when he takes Grüns consistently. I also feel better knowing they help fill some of the gaps on days when his diet is less than impressive.
I’m not a doctor, just a mom who has tried at least eight different kids’ vitamins. Grüns is the only one Luke will consistently take and the only one I honestly recommend. I bought them before becoming an affiliate, then reached out to the company last year because they genuinely worked for us.
They feel like a fun gummy treat, and the individually portioned packs are easy to serve with lunch or toss into a lunchbox.
