🎵 End Your Week With: Innovation Celebration
Friday | 5-7 PM | Heart of the Hills Heritage Center

Celebrate Kerr County's innovative spirit & Juneteenth at this unique evening event hosted by the Heart of the Hills Heritage Center. Enjoy live music on the lawn from Ghosts of the Pleasure Garden, explore museum exhibits, and discover local innovations through hands-on demonstrations and activities.

Food will be available for purchase from Black & Blues Barbecue, and admission to the exhibits is free during the event.

🍋 Weekend pick: Squeeze the Day Lemonade Stand Competition Saturday | 10 AM-1 PM | The Ridge Marketplace

Come cheer on Kerrville's youngest entrepreneurs as they decorate lemonade stands, serve customers, and compete for top honors at this fun community event. It's a great chance to support local kids, enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere, and celebrate creativity, confidence, and big dreams.

🚗 Worth the Drive: Das Festival in Boerne
June 19-21 | Main Plaza, Boerne | Free Admission

Looking for a Father's Day weekend adventure? Head to Boerne's Main Plaza for Das Festival, a free three-day celebration featuring live music, food vendors, crafts, family activities, and plenty of German-inspired fun.

Families can enjoy crowd favorites like the dachshund races, watermelon eating contest, egg toss, wheelbarrow races, and more. With activities happening all weekend long, it's an easy and affordable day trip from Kerrville. Here is the link to their Facebook page.

One thing I love about our community is how so many local organizations come together to support families. One example is St. Peter's Episcopal Church and School.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church helped support the Kroc Center's $1 summer swim initiative along with some other local churches, making affordable swimming accessible to local families all summer long. I know so many families are benefiting from that program this year. 

I've also had firsthand experience with the school and was consistently impressed by the care shown to both students and teachers. They offer a nurturing learning environment along with before-school and after-school care options that can be a huge help for working families.

Looking ahead to fall, St. Peter's Episcopal School currently has openings available in Toddler 2's & Pre-K 4's programs.

Programs like the Kroc's $1 Summer Swim initiative are such a blessing to our community. I'm grateful to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, First United Methodist Church, Southern Oaks Church & First Presbyterian Church and The Kerrville Kroc Center for making it possible. 

👔 Father’s Day is next weekend
