Beehive Meals is meal prep without the work. The meals stay in my freezer until I need them, all are dump-and-go, and I only have to add an easy side.

Every one we’ve tried has been good, lots have been genuinely delicious, and the convenience is unmatched. When sickness moved through our family for almost an entire month this spring, these meals saved me & they continue to in my very busy current season of life. Not every single meal blows me away, and I occasionally add extra seasoning to fit our preferences or spice something up. But on that rare night, I am still so thankful that our bellies were full and it was such an easy dinner.

The subscription is easy to pause or delay, and when I compare the cost per serving to takeout and convenience purchases, it saves us money. I receive some meals through my partnership, but I also purchase boxes myself. They’ve completely won me over. I am super excited for the Fall Soup Box. Every soup we have had so far is so good.

Kids can choose from a variety of furry friends, stuff their new plush, make a wish, and give it a name. Each plush friend kit includes a backpack, wishing star, and birth certificate. Free Kids’ Meal with every plush purchase

Afterward, pop across the street to shop tables filled with homemade treats AND the Ridge’s Grand Champ of Lemonade (Hey Hey Baby I Wanna Know If You Want Lemonade) will be there serving the best lemonade around.

Proceeds will benefit Texans on Mission and their ongoing work helping local families rebuild after the flooding.

School is almost back, but summer is not over yet! Squeeze in a few final rounds of local fun before the backpacks come out.

Kerr Kids’ Day of Play | Saturday, August 15, 10 AM–2 PM: Bounce zones, blue blocks, Nerf battles, sensory stations, a cakewalk, and more at the Hill Country Youth Event Center.

Blue Oak Back-to-School Bash | Saturday, August 15, 2–10 PM: Keep the fun going with games, a bouncy house, karaoke, and a movie at dusk. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Dogs are welcome too!

Hands-On History | Wednesday, August 5, 11:30 AM–12:30 PM: Explore the Heart of the Hills Heritage Center with a guided exhibit experience and hands-on activity. Kids are free. They are also hosting a Kerr Co. Love Project this weekend which we highly recommend.

Riverside Nature Center: Try Backyard Birding for Kids during Nature Night on Tuesday, August 4, from 6–7 PM, or visit Sprouts Thursday morning at 10:30 or just head in anytime!

The Color of Clay: Drop in during open studio hours and let the kids choose and paint a pottery piece of their own. Walk-ins are welcome during regular open-studio hours. Museum of Western Art: Explore the Journey West Children’s Gallery and see the American West through a child’s eyes. My son LOVES this gallery and feel free to bring the littles; THEY CAN TOUCH AND PLAY WITH EVERYTHING IN THERE. No stressin’!

Keep Kerrville Kickin’ side note: Free and low-cost activities are gold. If it’s in the budget, grab lunch or a bakery treat at The Ridge, paint a piece at The Color of Clay, or turn a visit to Heart of the Hills, Riverside Nature Center, or the Museum of Western Art into a membership. Donate $5 when you visit Kerr Kids. Little choices like these help keep the places creating family fun in Kerrville kickin’.

Game Speed is gauging interest in bringing its Homeschool Athletics program to Kerrville! Designed for ages 5–18, this twice-weekly PE-style program combines fitness games, obstacle challenges, and athletic development to build strength, speed, coordination, teamwork, and confidence.

At least 10 interested students are needed. Tuition would be $200/month, with sibling discounts. Dates, times, and location are still TBD. This is an interest check only. Fill out the form here.
